At Akavan Orthodontics we are always looking for new ways to improve our patient experiences by investing in the latest technologies. We are proud to now offer Cadent OrthoCAD at our practice, an advanced imaging system used to create more accurate digital impressions for effective orthodontic treatment.

With this new iOC Scanner, we can offer our patients a more comfortable impression experience without the uncomfortable, goopy impressions used in previous procedures. This allows our team to sit chairside with our patients and use the iOC Scanner’s immediate onscreen visualization to discuss your orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Nooshi Akavan and our team have some very exciting news to share this week...We are excited to announce that we will be starting radiography at Akavan Orthodontics very soon! What does this mean for you? Patients will no longer need to go to an orthodontics lab for x-rays. Additionally, will no longer need to wait to receive the x-rays. Your treatment will get started just that much sooner!

We are living in an age with a renewed commitment to conservation, and are frequently reminded to recycle, reduce and reuse. Today, we thought we would discuss everything that Akavan Orthodontics does to conserve our natural resources and the environment.

Did you know that we offer patients account access 24 hours a day, seven days a week? We offer convenient and secure online services with our patient login system. You may view all of your account information, and even receive appointment reminders through email or text messages. We are also going paperless to reduce the volume of paper that is used in our office. Going paperless will also improve the efficiency of our practice! Additionally, we have the new state of the art IOC Scanner which has eliminated the need for most impressions in our office: no more goopy messy molds!

Our new office also has a Fun Zone where our patients can play X-box and games!! It's a lot of fun!

All of us at Akavan Orthodontics are excited to welcome Ana Espinoza to our practice! She is joining our team as a Registered Dental Assistant. Here is a little more information about Ana:

Duties:
Help Dr. Akavan in providing the best treatment to our patients, taking impressions for retainers, aligners and all types of appliances, coordinating lab cases and making sure we have all of the braces and colors our patients need.

Family Members:
My boyfriend Dave and two dogs Luna & Gypsy.

Leisure Activities:
Walking and playing with two active puppies, yoga, and running.

Bet You Didn't Know:
I love Sci-Fi movies and the video game "Plants VS Zombies.

How do you interact with patients?:
In a friendly and honest way. If you give people the information they need, they will trust you.

What is your favorite part of your job?:
Seeing the change in our patients' smiles, making new friends and watching our patients grow up. We have the pleasure of not only treating kids, but 50% of are patients are adults.

Why do you love working with your doctor?:
Dr. Akavan is a hilly skill orthodontist that makes going to work fun. We have a fun and active office! In the 10 years that I've worked, I have seen children become young adults and treated all three generations of several families. She treated me and I trust her with my family.

We have a great team. From the moment you walk in to our office you are greeted by Denise and Gladis, and if you bring a friend or sibling they can play in our fun zone while you are treated by the doctor. If you need to get models, we have a new high-tech equipment that allows us to get them without impressions.
